 Trends are good for press, not necessarily for sockets
It's easy for Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) providers to jump on the multicore and virtualization bandwagons.
However, before going off in another direction, vendors should consider if these trends represent the requirements of most designs and ask themselves if existing design/performance issues have been sufficiently satisfied.
