 Foundation Fieldbus Overview
This chapter gives a short overview of Foundation Fieldbus and describes the parts of a Foundation Fieldbus network.
Refer to the Glossary for more explanation of Fieldbus terms and concepts.
The generic term fieldbus refers to any bus that connects to field devices.
This includes Foundation Fieldbus, NI-CAN, DNET, and Profibus.
In this manual, the term Fieldbus refers specifically to the Foundation Fieldbus.
