The Department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh became part of the Division of Informatics in August 1998.
Research includes Approximate and Qualitative Reasoning, Evolutionary Algorithms, Intelligent Robotics, Machine Vision, Mobile Robots, Mathematical Reasoning, Music Informatics, and Natural Language Processing.
