According to IDC, the market for Ethernet equipment will grow at a CAGR of 4.2 percent to $3.2 billion over 2008 to 2013. Meanwhile, Gartner reports, '[Ethernet] port shipments will grow at a compound annual rate of 1.8 percent from 2008 to 2013 … Gigabit Ethernet ports will grow to 49.8 percent of total shipments in 2013.'
