Gigascale Silicon Research Center (GSRC)
The GSRC was established in December, 1998 to perform long-range, collaborative research that address the challenges of chip design and test that we expect to be facing in the 8-12 year timeframe.
At present, the GSRC involves twenty five faculty and nine US universities, along with more than 50 post-doctoral researchers and graduate students, as well as a growing number of industrial researchers.

IEEE DASC
The IEEE DASC is responsible for the standardization of Design Automation related standards in the IEEE.
It is part of the Computer Society of the IEEE.
The biggest center of interest in the DASC has been around language based design and verification standards stemming from the key HDL standards VHDL and Verilog.
From these have flowed standards for timing, synthesis, math routines, and test.
