Tim Langens' MIP Processor Page
The MIPS (Microprocessor without Interlocked Pipeline Stages) sprouted, based on the RISC, from the mind of John L. Hennessy on Stanford University.
MIPS focused almost entirely on the pipeline, making sure it could be run as 'full' as possible.
Although pipelining was already in use in other designs, several features of the MIPS chip made its pipeline far faster.
The most important, and perhaps annoying, of these features was the...

MIPS Technical Tidbits
The applications-level programmer who doesn't write device drivers, interrupt service routines or assembly-language routines is usually insulated from the processor's inner-workings by the compiler.
However, since a great deal of our work with chip companies and RTOS/tool vendors deals directly with the processor, we often tackle the very issues that the compiler handles for you.

MIPS Assembly/MIPS Architecture - Free Wikibook
Introduction The MIPS microprocessor paradigm was created in 1981 from work done by J. L. Hennessy at Stanford University.
Since that time, the MIPS paradigm has been so influential, that nearly every modern-day processor family makes some use of the concepts derived from that original research.
This book will discuss the MIPS architecture and (perhaps most importantly) MIPS assembly programming.
This book is in an early stage of...
