Digital Signal Processing Using MATLAB and Wavelets
Although DSP has long been considered an EE topic, recent developments have also generated significant interest from the computer science community.
DSP applications in the consumer market, such as bioinformatics, the MP3 audio format, and MPEG-based cable/satellite television have fueled a desire to understand this technology outside of hardware circles.

Finite Field Wavelet Transforms
This book explores wavelets and filter banks over finite fields and their intersection with error control coding and data encryption.
It develops the ''theory of wavelet transforms over finite fields,''which provides a general wavelet decomposition of sequences defined over finite fields - an approach that has a rich history in signal processing for the representation of real-valued signals, but has been lacking in the finite field case.

Fundamental Papers in Wavelet Theory
This book traces the prehistory and initial development of wavelet theory, a discipline that has had a profound impact on mathematics, physics, and engineering.
Interchanges between these fields during the last fifteen years have led to a number of advances in applications such as image compression, turbulence, machine vision, radar, and earthquake prediction.

Fundamental Papers in Wavelet Theory
This is a lovely collection of papers coming out of the last two or three decades of mathematical trends connected in one way or the other to wavelets.
A current 2006 google search on 'wavelet' yields 6,470,000 hits; many of them dealing with applications, for example signal and image processing.
The volume brings to light even more interdisciplinary trends.
I expect the book will be a valued source for students in math, in applications,...
