ARMADA: A Real-time Middleware Architecture for Distributed Applications
The goal of this research project is to develop and demonstrate an environment - an integrated set of techniques and software tools - for designing, implementing, modifying, and integrating real-time distributed services that are necessary to realize computation, I/O, or communication intensive embedded real-time applications on parallel and/or distributed platforms.

EMMA - Embedded Middleware in Mobile Applications
In the Networked Society not only people, but also increasingly smarter devices are sharing information, knowledge and services anytime anywhere.
Embedded systems are at the centre of this move, since networks are not any longer linking just people but also smart objects.
This is posing serious challenges, particularly in applications which are mission critical, like transport.
It becomes urgent to open new prospects in the field of embedded...

Middleware for Embedded Adaptive Dependability (MEAD)
Middleware, such as CORBA and Java, have come to incorporate support for many ``-ilities'' (e.g., reliability, real-time, security). For CORBA middleware, there exist the Fault-Tolerant CORBA and the Real-Time CORBA specifications that aim to provide fault tolerance and real-time, respectively, to CORBA applications.

ObjectWeb - Open Source Middleware
In a distributed computing system, middleware is defined as the software layer that lies between the operating system and the applications on each site of the system.
Stimulated by the growth of network-based applications, middleware technologies are taking an increasing importance.
They cover a wide range of software systems, including distributed objects and components, message-oriented communication, and mobile application support.

Open Core
Open Core is a middleware abstraction layer allowing subsystems and applications to seamlessly run directly on top of Java Virtual Machine or inside of various J2EE application servers.
This all without changing single line of code while providing the same level of services such as connection pooling and JTA/JTS transaction management across different environments.
It enables consistent and efficient access to various databases taking...
